Who doesn't want to go back?

Life can seem so much simpler in the rearview mirror. We can look back on all the stuff that we loved and did when we were kids and try to make sense of it now. Where did we come from? Why did it feel so easy then? Why does it feel so hard now? These are tough questions to answer, but they are questions worth interrogating. They say that everything looks better in hindsight, but is that true? Should we try to remember things as they were? Maybe being a kid wasn't all that it was cracked up to be. Maybe it's more interesting to be an adult with your own money and your own sense of freedom. But those things have a way of feeling out of reach when you need them the most. And sometimes there is freedom within confinement. When you had to be at school all day, you were forced to make amazing friends and memories. You found creative ways to use your time, and you were good at it. Your mind was full of inventions and characters and all angles of creativity. These days, even though we can do whatever we want with our time, it doesn't always feel as free. You're consumed by responsibilities, life plans, and goals you want to reach. There's nothing like the existential boredom of being a kid. You can work to toy and get your way back there, but it's not always easy.
